Cliveden House

Cliveden House

There’s so many words I could use to describe Cliveden House but the one most deserving is definitely – breathtaking.

Turning in to the long stoney driveway leading up to the house I was completely taken aback by its jaw dropping beauty and splendor.

Set in the Berkshire countryside within 365 acres of land, owned and maintained by the National Trust this Hotel and Spa along with Spring Cottage was an absolute treat to visit.

As I pulled up at the house I was greeted by a member of the exceptionally helpful friendly concierge team who took my keys to park the car and send me off in direction of the Spa!

First things first – Our Cliveden Signature Spa day was the most fantastically relaxing experience, everything we could have hoped for and more. Greeted by a friendly receptionist who showed us around the Spa and explained our day we then headed to the outdoor pool area to catch some rays and admire the stunning architecture. The spa day included full use of the facilities, a 2 course lunch, which I must add was heavenly, and a holistic haven body treatment which was as amazing as it sounds! After choosing a fragrance, the whole body is scrubbed with salts, covered in a clay mask wrap and given an extremely relaxing head massage. Pure bliss.

Check in time…

The House is quintessentially British, with its dark wood and stone structure, open fireplaces, salubrious spiral staircases and exceptionally large bedrooms!

We were given a real treat with our room, an enormous 4 poster bed, oversized marble bath, and walk in wardrobe with fabulous leather shelves for my shoe collection to sit happily. There was enough room to stay comfortably for a month.

The food at breakfast was exceptional, not a thing was forgotten, from delicious home – made granola bars, smoked salmon, baskets of pastries, a phenomenal fresh fruit platter and of course the traditional English breakfast.

Whilst at Cliveden I was lucky enough to be working with Mens tweed suits who gifted an amazing suit by Marc Darcy London, some great mens skincare products by Murdoch, Rotary Watches who gifted me one of their ‘Cambridge’ watches and lastly the new men’s fragrance by Salvatore Ferragamo. They all fitted into the quintessentially british surroundings perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for greater brands to collaborate with on this particular shoot.

All in all, I can’t recommend Cliveden enough, the perfect location, amazing views, attentive staff, great gardens to lose yourself in, gorgeous boat trips,a Spa to die for and not forgetting the fabulous tennis courts which this time I unfortunately didn’ t have time to visit. To sum it up the hotel really has it all.
