Dobell was founded in 2003 by Mike Dobell. I was sent their Dobell Blue windowpane check tweed suit trousers, Dobell Blue windowpane check tweed suit jacket and Dobell Blue windowpane check tweed waistcoat.
I like the check pattern, as I think it makes the suit stand out from the rest. It is not too out there and it’s well-designed, with the colours of the windowpane check complementing the main burgundy colour.
What I love most about this suit is the tweed; what a perfect material for those winter occasions. This three-piece suit has some nice features. The trousers have belt loops and are half lined. It has plain front pockets and jetted back pockets with buttons.
The jacket is single-breasted with two buttons and a peak lapel. It also has jetted side pockets with flaps and a single breast pocket for your favourite handkerchief or pocket square. The inside is lined with a gorgeous paisley patterned fabric.
The waistcoat is double-breasted with eight buttons, and it has jetted pockets and a shawl lapel. The shawl lapel really compliments the peak lapel on the jacket when the two items are worn together.
The back of the waistcoat is adjustable and has the same paisley pattern as the inside of the jacket, so it is very matchy matchy. The fit of this three-piece suit is pretty much perfect and I felt extremely comfortable in it. This is one of the most affordable suits I have seen, but there is absolutely no compromise on the quality or the style.
I will definitely be recommending Dobell to all my friends, especially those with up-and-coming weddings.
