The Montcalm Royal London House

The Montcalm Royal London House

The Montcalm hotels in London may well be modern and  ‘cutting edge’ but they also triumph practicality (and beauty, of course). Spread across London you’ll discover eight different hotels, each with a different story to tell.

I had the total pleasure of wheeling my suitcase into The Montcalm Royal London House in a deluxe double room. The room oozed comfort, boasting 20 square metres of elegance, plus views were of Finsbury Square which was a total plus. On the decor front, the vibe is calming and cosy. Amenities included a Nespresso machine, Smart 55” TV, iPod docking station and complimentary WiFi, making you feel instantly settled with a range of things to keep you relaxed and content. The fast WiFi is a must for any business trip and with coffee in hand, there was nothing to wish for. If that’s not enough, how does a pillow menu sound? This ensures that you not only have the perfect stay but you also have the perfect night’s sleep, and a much appreciated mini bar. The bathroom here is  spacious with basin, toilet and a seperate shower unit and bath. Clad with marble surfaces, there’s a very sleek vibe inside aided by the Elemis toiletries to give that touch of indulgence.

Naturally, I paid a visit to the wellness & fitness centre. The eight  metre pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi made for great places to relax and unwind before heading to explore the onsite bars and restaurants. First I tried the rooftop bar, the famed Aviary. The view of the London skyline was dazzling  and not to mention the incredible modern brasserie food and refined selection of botanical cocktails, craft ales and lagers and international wines – an incredible place to enjoy a meal and a few drinks.

I wanted to try the Tank Fresh beer as it’s  unfiltered and unadulterated and all sustainably produced so I went to the Long Arm Pub and Brewery which is on the Worship Street side of the hotel. The pub had a charming atmosphere and not only did it have great beer, a wine list , burgers and hotdogs but it played sports matches on an enormous projector screen, what more can a guy ask for? My stay included a wholesome full English breakfast which was enjoyed at the Burdock which is the brand new City café, bar and restaurant. It was delicious and was everything I needed for yet  another busy day in the city. This hotel has a lot to offer its guests from comfort and luxury to relaxation and fun. I would highly recommend The Montcalm Royal London House. I will definitely be booking and staying at another one of their hotels around London.
